World of Hyatt is our travel team’s pick for best hotel rewards program. That’s due, in part, to how much they value World of Hyatt points. Each is worth 1.8 cents apiece, per our team’s assessments. That’s more than double any other option on this list.
This card also includes Discoverist status, as well as five Qualifying night credits to climb to the next tier. Plus, as an added status perk, up to five of your employees can also receive Discoverist status.

Chase refreshed this card in October 2026. It’s now hard to beat if you’re not already loyal to a specific hotel brand.
This card packs up to 26X total points per dollar spent at IHG properties, plus an excellent 5X points per $1 spent on restaurants and gas. You’ll also get a free night and the ability to earn another by spending $60,000 annually on the card. There’s an additional yearly points bonus if you spend $25,000 on the card, plus quarterly $25 credits for IHG Food & Beverage Rewards.

Other hotel business credit cards

The Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Credit Card is the only other hotel business card our editorial team tracks. It doesn't quite stack up versus our top picks (NerdWallet rating: 3.5 stars).
The card’s annual fee is lower ($149), but so are its welcome offer and reward rates. You do get automatic Wyndham Rewards Diamond status — the brand’s highest non-invitation-only level. Unfortunately, that tier's perks (like suite upgrades and late checkout) don’t surpass the competition. There’s no free night either.
Wyndham does have more than 9,000 properties across its portfolio. And if you’re already loyal to the brand, you’ll probably get enough utility from this card to make it worth the fee. If not, there are better options.

How we chose the best hotel business credit cards

NerdWallet's editorial team evaluates business credit cards on more than a dozen factors. To choose the best hotel options, I focused on:
  • Annual fees.
  • Reward rates, for hotel-specific purchases and other spending.
  • Cash equivalents, like a free night’s stay or statement credits.
  • Status program tiers and their included benefits.
Business cards need to earn at least 4.0 stars to make this list. That’s lower than our team’s usual standard (4.5 stars). I broadened this range because hotel cards rely greatly on personal preference. A card we score as “good” can easily become “great” if you value a specific hotel chain or brand.
Business cards that earn 5 stars are considered exceptional. These cards are best-in-class and deliver the most value for the greatest number of business owners.
Business cards that earn 4.0 to 4.9 stars are good to excellent. They deliver excellent value and might be the best choice for certain businesses, depending on your needs and spending habits.
Business cards that earn 3.0 to 3.9 stars are fine business cards. You'll get some value out of using them, to be sure, but there are other cards that offer better rewards.
Business cards that earn below 3 stars are considered subpar and would generally not be recommended by NerdWallet.

How much are hotel business credit card points worth?

Point values vary by hotel business credit card. Most tout massive spending multipliers, especially for purchases on their properties. But like a wide-angle photo of a tiny room, looks can be deceiving.
For instance, the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card’s potential 9.5X points per dollar can be more valuable than The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card ’s 30X (terms apply; see ).
NerdWallet determines redemption values for hotel loyalty programs based on real-world data. Your points may end up worth more or less than our number. But these valuations make it easier to compare options apples-to-apples.
Here’s a breakdown based on the cards’ maximum points and projected value.

What status do hotel business credit cards offer?

Most hotel business credit cards automatically bump you up a loyalty program’s status ladder. But a higher rung isn’t necessarily a better one.
Take the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Credit Card. It comes with the company’s top-tier public status (Diamond). But our travel team calls that program “not impressive.” Their top pick for best hotel program? World of Hyatt, which lets you off in its proverbial lobby (Discoverist).
Here’s where each drops you into their ecosystem:
Page, Text
Despite their different pecking-order spots, these default tiers have broadly similar benefits.
For instance, all include late checkout and complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability). Details vary, though. Hilton and Wyndham don’t have a fixed late checkout time, while the others end at 2 p.m.
Hilton has another edge: complimentary continental breakfast or a daily food-and-beverage credit at participating brands. That’s not available at the other automatic status levels.

Our travel team has you covered. Here are their guides to each of these programs.

What benefits do hotel business credit cards come with?

Hotel-specific benefits are a big appeal of these co-branded cards. After all, their goal is to get you to stay with that brand time after time.
IHG does the best job incentivizing you to come back and spend at its properties. Its business card includes a free night, the ability to earn another, annual bonus points and hotel credits. Other options have some of these perks — but not all of them.

Should you get a hotel card or business travel credit card?

If you have the freedom to pick and choose which hotel you stay at on business travel, a branded hotel business card can pay off in a big way. But if you want or need more flexibility, a business travel card is often the better choice.
A general business travel card typically earns bonus points on all travel. You won’t get 30X points on a hotel stay. Most issuers do offer above-average rewards on prepaid hotel stays you book via their travel portals, though. Here are rates from some top earners:
  • Capital One Venture X Business: 10X miles when booked through Capital One Travel.
  • U.S. Bank Business Plus Essentials: 10% cash back when booked in the U.S. Bank Travel Center.
  • Sapphire Reserve for Business℠: 8X points when booked via Chase Travel.
These cards have heftier annual fees than co-branded hotel options. The Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ is a whopping $795, for instance. But they come with broader benefits and greater flexibility for reward redemption.
You can also carry both a hotel card and a travel card in your business wallet. Use your branded card for hotel stays and your general card for all other travel expenses. Just make sure you’re spending enough on both to offset annual fee costs.

Should business owners consider personal hotel credit cards?

You can use a personal credit card for business spending. Sole proprietors should compare business hotel cards to personal hotel credit cards. They may find a card with a lower annual fee or an easier-to-obtain sign-up bonus based on their spending.
But sole proprietors don’t have to go for a consumer card. Personal credit is the biggest qualifying factor to get a business credit card. Issuers don’t require a formal business structure or massive annual revenue. (Or any revenue, really.) A good FICO score, typically 690 or above, is often all you need.
Opting for a business card will net you features personal options lack, like free employee cards. You’ll also stop big spending from chewing up your credit utilization, and potentially lowering your personal credit score.

How to choose a hotel business credit card

Already have a strong preference for where you stay? Go with that company’s hotel business credit card. Our editorial team may value these cards’ features differently. But the truth is none are worth their fees if you won’t stay or spend with a given brand.
If you’re starting from scratch, take these steps instead:
  1. Decide if you want to be loyal at all. A general-purpose business travel card will likely serve you better if you want to be able to book with any brand. (More details on this here.)
  2. Assess where you currently travel. Most hotel business credit cards are from brands with thousands of global locations. Hyatt is the smallest on this list, with more than 1,500 hotels across 83 countries. Marriott, on the other hand, has more than 10,000 properties across 148 countries and territories. With either, you’ll likely be able to find a place to stay. But if you know where you’ll travel, it’s a good idea to check the brands and locations in that area.
  3. Think about where you’ll travel in the future too. Points are a main attraction for hotel business credit cards. If you plan to cash yours in for bigger, luxury vacations, you’ll want to consider a company’s overall portfolio. NerdWallet’s travel team thinks Marriott is the best overall hotel chain. But they have a breakdown of all the big-name hotel brands for each.
  4. Check out ongoing rewards. If redemption is your game, these will play a big part. Hotel cards benefit you the most for purchasing with their properties. But look at other multipliers as well to maximize spending. IHG stands out here. You’ll earn 5X points on select categories (like airfare and restaurants) and 3X points on all other purchases. This card also delivers 20,000 bonus points after you spend $25,000 in calendar-year purchases.
  5. Evaluate a card’s hotel-specific features. Care less about future travel and more about comforts while on the road? Use that as your guide instead. The best place to start is with the automatic status each card provides. Compare their perks to decide if less-common features like dining credits (Hilton has them; terms apply) or suite upgrades (an option with Wyndham) put one brand ahead of another.

Methodology

NerdWallet's writers and editors monitor more than 70 business credit cards to select the best options without outside input from partners or other business interests. We evaluate business cards based on value and simplicity, weighing fees, sign-up bonuses and reward rates, alongside perks like interest-free periods, statement credits and elite status (for travel cards).
We consider more than 20 data points for each card we score, including detailed information about rewards, credits and fees. We gather this information from rates and fees documents, deposit account agreements, financial institution websites and company representatives.
Our editorial team regularly reviews and updates our data to ensure consistency and accuracy. We also update our scoring on an ongoing basis to reflect changing industry norms and business owner needs. For instance, in 2026, we added a small deduction for cards that don’t allow users to issue virtual cards and removed the small increase for cards with no preset spending limit.
Final star ratings range from one to five stars. A five-star score represents the best available product for the largest number of business owners. Learn how NerdWallet rates small-business credit cards.
